Wattle & Ember is a licensed, family-run cafe on Crown Street in Surry Hills, serving wood-fired Modern Australian brunch, lunch and specialty coffee since 2017. Our kitchen cooks over ironbark and native wattle, giving a gentle smokiness to dishes like ember-roasted mushrooms with macadamia cream, smoked trout benedict, and lamb flatbread with finger-lime yoghurt. We source eggs, vegetables and meat from small NSW farms, bake our sourdough in-house each morning, and roast our coffee with a local Marrickville roaster. Fully licensed for local wines, craft beer and brunch cocktails, we seat 60 inside and in our leafy courtyard, welcome dogs outside, and offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on every menu. Walk-ins welcome, with group bookings and private courtyard hire available.
