Located in Vilakazi Street, one of the most historically significant streets of Soweto and which is steeped in history. Thrive is a stone’s throw from Nelson and Winnie Mandela’s first home and that of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and near the Hector Pieterson Museum.

Our ultra-modern cafe / restaurant was built in 2013.

Thrive provides an opportunity for local and overseas visitors as well as Sowetan locals to relax and indulge in very stylish surroundings and rely on and enjoy our unique modern food experience which includes our deep coffee flair and expertise that we have brought to Soweto. Thembi is hands-on owner / manager but also our own well-known coffee barista. She is passionate about our coffee offering and comes with extensive coffee barista training and experience.
