The Joy of Food offers local delicacies like goat's cheese, olive oil and Slowtown coffee. It serves a delicious buffet every day and Swartland wines.

The Joy of Food

The Joy of Food is the latest addition of interesting food joints in Windhoek. It is a beautiful deli-cum-coffeehouse-cum-restaurant nestled in a cosy, tree-covered restaurant plaza. In the background is the sound of the cascading water fountain which is the perfect setting for the best coffee Namibia has on offer.

This is any coffee-lover’s dreamboat. The deli is one of a few places where you can find the flavourful, rich-roasted ‘Slow Town’ coffee coming from Namibia’s only artisan coffee roasters. The Slow Town flavours include the ‘House Blend’ which works great as an espresso-based drink. The single origin decaffeinated blend still has the ‘buzz’ of the bean. The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, AntinguaGuatamala and Costa Rica Bromelia taste as good as their names are beautiful.

The Joy of Food is open from 08:00 to 18:00 on Mondays to Thursdays. It’s open till late on Fridays for after-work drinks, pizza and platters with bread, cheese and smoked meats. On Saturday it’s open from 09:00 to 14:00. Chef Iipinge creates the daily buffet lunch, served Mondays to Fridays, using seasonal produce and herbs from the deli’s garden.
