the oldest and finest pub in oxford
The Bear is the oldest pub in Oxford and is a hidden gem, just off the hustle and bustle of the busy High Street. The pub is popular with students, locals and tourists alike, who comer here to enjoy a fantastic pint of real ale and delicious, home-cooked, traditional pub food.
The pub is most famous for its quirky collection of ties - dating back to the early 1900s and representing clubs in the Oxford area and, more recently, around the globe.
The Bear is a homely and great place to kick back and unwind in,why don't you take off your own tie, and enjoy looking at everyone else's!
The Bear Inn is home to a rather impressive (if somewhat random) collection of ties - visitors from all around the globe have contributed their neck wear.
In the summer you can enjoy our spacious well seated garden and in the winter sit down next to our glorious open fires.
We hold many events such as Karaoke, The Bear quiz and music nights all on various days.
The Bear Quiz - Every Tuesday at 8.30 - 11 pm
Karaoke - Will be made into an event when its due, so keep your eyes peeled
Music Night - a Live Acoustic Act will play most Wednesdays - 8 pm onwards, this is including a collect few of our very own local acts.
