Mazur's Bakery: Always In Good Taste!
Mazur's Bakery was founded in the year 1937. Since it's opening it has become one of the most respected and well known bakeries in Bergen County. Under the ownership of Joe Spiekermann, his wife Roseann, and their three daughters, Jaclyn, Donna, and Suzanne, Mazur's is proud to boast over 90 years of baking excellence and serving the community. Mazur's is proud to serve 365 days a year ensuring every occasion, large or small is celebrated. Everyday there are over 1,000 products available to the public, no to mention special orders and custom cakes! With quality like this Joe proudly states, "We know once you try our products, we'll be your only bakery."
Meet The Baker:
Known as "Joe the Baker", the owner and Head Baker of Mazur's is Joe Spiekermann. Coming from a long line of amazing bakers starting with his Grandfather, Frank Spiekermann who founded the original Spiekermann's Bakery in 1919, to his father Joe Spiekermann Sr, baking is a way of life for Joe and his family. Growing up watching his father at work inspired Joe to follow in his footsteps. Since he was 14 he has worked everyday after school and every weekend.
Due to Joe's lifelong knowledge and determination to make Mazur's a household name, Mazur's Bakery has become a popular staple in the tri-state area. Famous for his signature Swiss Bread which was voted "Best Bread in New York" by New York Magazine, Joe has also appeared on several programs. He appeared on Eyewitness News with Bob Lape, the Joe Franklin Show, and Romper Room with Miss Molly. His baked goods have appeared nationwide on The Today Show, ESPN, and the YES Network, along with many other popular television shows. He also appeared on many local news stations and radio such as New Jersey News 12 and WABC. He has made birthday cakes for countless celebrities from Derek Jeter to Barbara Walters.
At the age of 30, Joe was diagnosed with diabetes. Since then, he has a strong passion for creating sugar-free baked goods. The bakery has a special section dedicated specially for sugar-free desserts, such as cheesecakes, assorted fruit pies, and strawberry shortcakes.
