The journeys of the nomads, who dine under the stars upon colorful terrains and majestic landscapes, are what had inspired us to come up with the newest and what we think as the most beautiful place to watch sunset in Bali – Kakilima by the sea. On lush green, gently sloping lawn that ends with the sparkling sea as far as the eyes can see, this is a “warung” with a million dollar view.

The name means ‘5 Feet’ in Indonesian, signifying the colorful Indonesian food carts. Fronting Canggu Beach, the spectacular venue faces the most beautiful sunset view in Bali, as it turns the sky crimson red as it goes down the Indian Ocean.

The atmosphere is love-inspiring and free-spirited with a gipsy-ish, nomadic ambiance. It is colourful, fun for families, happy for friends, and romantic for couples all at the same time.

Kids can roam around and play with rackets, the good old fashioned water sprinkler, football and other kids toys at their disposal, when parents can just relax with great drinks or a very cold beer. The menu aims to feature simply wonderful, generous, very tasty honest food with Mediterranean influences, using quality fresh ingredients, with a large choice of tapas, fresh delicious salads and a main course list that includes the best pork ribs in town, juicy marinated skewers or an excellent excellent mahi-mahi burger.

Kakilima celebrates every weekend with gipsy night – a big bond fire under the stars, with acoustic music concert around a big fire, barbecue on the pit, big pitchers of sangria surrounded by torches and lanterns.
