Harrison Music Education Systems is a music education company founded by pianist, composer, and educator Mark Harrison, supplying contemporary music instruction to musicians around the world since 1994. Mark is a former faculty member of the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, and his instruction books are published internationally by Hal Leonard and recommended by Berklee College of Music for its new students. Through private one-on-one lessons on Zoom from his West Hills, California teaching studio, Mark teaches adults and serious beginners through advanced players in pop, rock, and jazz piano and keyboard, improvisation, music theory and harmony, ear training, composing, and arranging. Students can record each lesson and receive an emailed summary with practice recommendations afterward. The company also publishes a complete line of print books, audio, video lessons, and downloadable packages, including pop piano and contemporary keyboard methods, keyboard harmony and chord voicing courses, introductory jazz piano courses, and a college-level ear training system with audio. Mark is also an active performer and recording artist, leading the Mark Harrison Quintet and serving as music director of the Steely Dan tribute band Doctor Wu. Whether you want structured private lessons or a self-paced course, Harrison Music Education Systems delivers professional, practical training for today's musicians.
