Camp Hess Kramer, formerly known to many families as Camp Gindling Hilltop, delivers overnight summer camp experiences for kids and teens in Carlsbad, California, just north of San Diego and within driving distance of Los Angeles. The program blends traditional camp values with the rare advantage of an oceanfront setting, making it one of the only summer camps near the beach in the San Diego area. Campers enjoy surfing, beach sports, coastal hikes, and tide pool exploration alongside cabin life and counselor mentorship. Multi-generational Los Angeles families return year after year, with parents who once attended Camp Gindling now sending their own children to keep the tradition alive.
