As you all may know I have aspired to have my own bakery in the Portland area some day. I cannot do that until my husband is done playing hockey, so until then I will be building my portfolio. At this point, I still consider myself to be an amateur. I know how to bake and decorate, but I do not yet know the complete "ins and outs" of the business. My goal for the next few years is to book weddings, birthdays, and any special occasions during the late spring to early fall months while we are home in Portland. Also to build my portfolio and gain as much experience as I can through family and friends so when the time comes I will feel ready and experienced enough to run my own business. Because I am just starting out my product will be a more affordable option than the local bakeries for the family or couple on a budget.
