BellaWest is an organic , eco - friendly Salon . Laura West has believed in the use of natural products since the 1980's. " Back then stylists were limited as far as what was offered in the way of professional , chemical free products. " I began my training as an Aromatherapist in the early 1990's and that is when I became aware of just how toxic my work enviroment was". She then began researching chemical free hair color and experimented with the few that were on the market . Once Organic Color Systems became available Laura was ready to open the doors of BellaWest. " Since working with this color line , I couldn't be more satisfied". Laura says that the advantage is that it doesn't damage and in fact it leaves the hair healthier than before the color service and it doesn't have the harsh fumes and scalp discomfort.
BellaWest recycles and has gently used equipment and furnishings most of which Laura bought at Goodwill and yard sales. During the Gulf Oil
Spill hair clippings were collected and mailed to " A Matter Of Trust" to be made into mats to absorb the oil .
Laura West is one of the few stylists in the Northern Va. area to offer Organic Color Systems . No Ammonia or other harsh chemicals. Laura also carries Organic Care systems , Onesta Organics, and Avella Organic custom blended Aromatherapy for purchase to keep your hair and skin healthy in between appointments.
