Website: Bismillaah, was salaatu wa salaamu 'alaa rasoolillaah, As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuhū, As I know you are all in the business of gaining 'ajr, I want to bring your attention to a very noble project that is desperately in need of support at the moment - 1Eid. The essence of 1Eid is to bring together the Muslims throughout London by celebrating the day of Eid together in one place on one day. Their aim is to revive the sunnah of the prophet (saw) and celebrate Eid the way it should be, with the community together and united, away from the masjid. The main aims of 1Eid are listed below: 1. To revive the forgotten sunnah of our beloved prophet (saw) by taking the Eid prayer outside of the Masjid and praying as he (saw) prayed. 2. Making the Eid salah accessible to women so they too can pray or at least listen to the khutbah, as was the way of our beloved rasul (saw). 3. To unite the Muslims on the day of Eid, of all backgrounds and ethnicities, building relations in the community with one another, showing we are one Ummah in front of Allah on His day, as well as taking advantage of this unique platform for da3wah. 4. Restoring the future faith of our children, by taking away the confusion of Eid not being celebrated on the day of Eid but 2 weeks later! To provide them with a festival they can look forward to, enjoy and appreciate as opposed to birthdays, Christmas, Easter and other pagan festivals. The 1Eid day celebration will cost approximately £ 70,000 – 100,000. This is a project that directly benefits the communities we live in and is suffering from a lack of funds at the moment - if we do not take it upon ourselves to support such projects, then who will? Ilhan and I have pledged to raise £1000 for 1Eid by Ramadhan in sha Allah. We kindly request a small donation of £10 from each of you, it's an amount that most of us are able to spare alhamdulillah, and if you are able to give more then even better but no amount is too small.
