Synopsis Winery is located in CURICÓ of Central Valley, and is about 200 km to the south of Santiago. The selected grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
The system for cultivating the plant employs a high trellis, a fruit carrying wire (where the production cord is placed) and four mobile wires for foliage. This system acts as a guide for an orderly growth of plants in the vertical position. The plantation pattern is 2.5 m between rows and 1.0 m between individual plants. A drip irrigation system covers the entire plantation and irrigation zones are determined according to the varieties and characteristics of the soil. The irrigation periods are regulated in accordance to the vegetative growth, the moisture content of the soil, season and other factors, and they fluctuate between 4 and 12 hours per week. The droppers used have a rate of 2 to 4 liters/hour.
Harvest is carried out manually in late April. Vinification is composed of gravitational processing, with cluster selection, cold maceration for 72 hours, fermentation between 28 and 30º C for 6 days with post-fermentative maceration according to taste. After fermentation, juice is placed in barrels, French and American oak for 12 months. Minimum time in barrels is about 16 months, which gives the wine its complexity and roundness.
