One of a cluster of inexpensive little Italian places specialising in pizza around Balfe and Chatham Streets, each with its following, this authentic one-room café just beside Neary's pub is a favourite lunch spot for many discerning Dubliners.
In 1996 Steps of Rome opened its door on Chatham street bringing the Italian cusine in Dublin to another level.
It was set up as a small family run place, the one you typically find in Italy: with Mamma at the cooking grill/oven mastering and cooking the secret recipes she only carry from her mother and grandmother; with PAPA at the front of the house, chatting, greeting and drinking wine with the customers; with the son and the daughter serving and waitressing...
With family roots in the south of Italy, they brought to Steps a huge variety of meat dishes, pizzas and pastas.
