Since 1984, Coco's has been a pivotal landmark in Center City East dining and nightlife.
Home to lushes, laureates, lovers, laborers and lawyers, Coco's is the ideal place to treat yourself to gourmet food, interesting conversation and the neighborhoody-vibe you just won't find anywhere else.
Coco’s is the evolution of generational ownership. John Cokos Sr. owned numerous establishments in North Philly. John & his brother, Gus Constantine, following the direction & advice of their father opened King Zog’s in Camden, NJ in 1973.
After 9 successful years the brothers, still with the help & guidance of their dad, opened Coco’s @ 112 South 8th street in Philadelphia. Going from one city to the other was a risky proposition but it paid off! John & Gus weathered the early stages and established an eclectic, fun pub that survives and thrives ‘til today!
John & Gus stood by each other as brothers do for 20 years. As luck would have it, John & Gus bestowed their luck to an irish friend, Mike Callinan, to take over Gus’ position. Since then John & Mike have been trying & succeeding in giving you the best food, service & atmosphere!
Stay Awhile,
John & Mike
