Caffè Italiano nasce nel 1999 da un'idea di Umberto Montano, imprenditore della ristorazione ma soprattutto grande conoscitore della cultura del vino e della cucina.
L'Osteria è il primo locale ad aprire i battenti in via Isola delle Stinche, nel centro storico di Firenze dove, appena più tardi, inaugura anche la Pizzeria.
A pochi passi dal Teatro Verdi di Firenze, l'Osteria diviene presto un punto di ritrovo per artisti, intenditori e amanti della tavola. Nei suoi locali, ospitati all'interno del trecentesco Palazzo Salviati, si respira l'atmosfera elegante di un posto fatto per incontrarsi e godere la tranquilla compagnia di un'amicizia.
La creazione più recente di Caffè Italiano è SUD. Una proposta pensata per declinare in maniera diversa l'offerta ormai consolidata del Gruppo che si basa su qualità, tradizione e semplicità.

Caffè Italiano is one of Umberto Montano's business, who started his activity in 1999 to pursue his great passion for Italy's culinary art.
At first, he opened Osteria, a traditional Tuscan restaurant in the centre of Florence. Shortly after the restaurant, he created Pizzeria to offer his guests the opportunity to enjoy a real Italian Pizza.
Quickly Caffè Italiano became very popular among tourists from all over the world, as well as Italian actors, international artists (the restaurant is near Teatro Verdi) and other food lovers.
Caffè Italiano is located in via Isola delle Stinche, in the ancient Palazzo Salviati, an historical palace characterized by its refined elegance and originality.
SUD is the last restaurant launched by Umberto Montano. It is a welcoming Bistrot offering a menu focused on Southern Italian food and on Mediterranean Diet principles. SUD is also a Delicatessen, where it is possible to buy genuine traditional products (pasta, cheese, olive oil) and to order takeway meals.
