Brew Lab creates specialty craft ales and lagers for the local and regional community, with a focus on experimentation. We aim to make our beer affordably priced and available for all to enjoy, without compromising the ingredients or process.

brewLAB is Rob, Peter, Steve and the love of beer. Rob and Steve met back in 1999 and brewed their first batch of beer together about 6 years ago. In early 2011, while attending UCSB, Rob met Peter on a visit to Orella Ranch in Gaviota and began brewing with him in Santa Barbara. Later in 2011, Steve, Rob, and Peter converged for a backpacking trip to the Lost Coast in Northern California, and it was on that trip that they first talked about starting a brewery. In late 2012, the initiative had fully begun and planning was underway. Finally, in March of 2013, they found the perfect spot in the super-chill city of Carpinteria. In April, Steve came on board full time and moved up to the area to form the perfect trifecta. Since then they have been experimenting with different brews, building the infrastructure of the brewery and planning the beautiful place we call brewLAB.
