Bicycle Bread is a small bakery run by 10 friends that mills wheat and delivers bread on bicycle around the USC area! You can also order bread for pick up at our bakery on Union from 3pm-5pm on Sundays! You can order online at bicyclebread.com!

The story of Bicycle Bread begins back in Florida, where Stephen and Ben Gordon grew up in a family with 11 kids. The pantry was always full of wheat, oats and honey and their mom daily made delicious breads, cinnamon rolls and granola for their family from scratch.

In January of 2009, Ben and Stephen got off a bus in mid-city Los Angeles and traded 10 loaves of bread made from their Mom’s recipe for a bicycle they could use for deliveries.

Thus the Bicycle Bread Company was born- a bakery motivated by a passion to share God’s love and serve our neighborhood by baking healthy bread, providing opportunities for our community to share life together authentically and supporting local youth organizations with the proceeds.

Armed with a grain mill and their new bike, they began to perfect their Mom’s bread recipe and deliver bread around the North University Park neighborhood.

In the future we envision a vibrant bakery with art lining the walls, books filling the shelves, good music playing…a space where people from the community can share life together and enjoy healthy, fresh bread.
